How do you protect my credit card information?
We use only the most up-to-date Internet protection software, digital certification and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to secure every transaction. If your browser supports SSL as most do, all the personal information that you send us, including credit card numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers, will be instantly encrypted, or scrambled. This scrambling makes it difficult for any unauthorized persons to read as the information travels over the Internet.
How can I tell if my browser is secure?
When you visit a secure section of our site, which includes any section where you are asked to provide your credit card or personal information, two things will happen:
1) A fastened lock or solid key will appear in the bottom-right corner of your browser window. If you click this icon, our security certificate information will appear in a pop-up window. This certificate guarantees that your personal information is being encrypted and sent to our Web server only and not to another unauthorized server somewhere else.
2) In the address bar of your Web browser, the beginning of our URL will change from http:// to https://. The additional "s" in https:// indicates that your connection is secure.
When will my credit card be authorized and charged?
Your credit card will be authorized when we receive your encrypted order and then charged when we ship your order.
If your credit card is not approved for any reason, we will contact you by phone to verify your personal information. You will then have the option of choosing a different credit card for that order.
What will you do with personal information you collect on your Web site?
Factory Card & Party Outlet will not sell any of your information to anyone. We collect this information to better tailor your experience at factorycard.com and to better tailor the special offers, coupons and information we mail and/or e-mail to you. You may unsubscribe from our mailing and/or e-mailing lists at any time.
